Five-Day Portrait Painting Workshop with Cornelia Hernes in Guildford

This October, Carmine Crimson Studios in Guildford is delighted to welcome internationally acclaimed artist and teacher Cornelia Hernes for a five-day portrait painting workshop from life.

Cornelia trained at the Florence Academy of Art, where she later spent more than a decade as a Principal Instructor across its campuses in Italy, Sweden and the United States. With over 20 years’ experience as an artist and educator, she brings a wealth of knowledge in classical drawing and painting to her teaching.

Working from a professional model throughout the week, participants will develop a portrait from the initial charcoal block-in through to a developed oil painting. Cornelia will explore drawing, proportion, colour, value and form through demonstrations and personalised tuition at the easel.

With a maximum of 10 participants, the workshop offers a wonderful opportunity to spend five immersive days developing your portrait painting with an internationally respected artist and teacher.
